Grange Pilgrimage 2004: Paris, Chartres, Beauvais, Amiens, Rouen, St. Benoit sur Loire, Vezelay. : In May 2004, 64 persons from the Benedictine Grange in Redding, Connecticut went to Paris. From Paris the group visited cathedrals in Chartres, Reims, Beauvais, Amiens, Rouen, St. Benoit-sur-Loire and Vezelay, plus some days were spent in Paris. The photos from this trip are presented chronologically. THe best way to view these photos is to use the Slideshow feature, which is located at the top right of the screen. This will adjust the photos to fit your screen no matter what size it is.

A photo note: The photos were taken with a digital camera, an Olympus c-8080WZ, an 8 megapixel camera, thus each original photo was very large - 2448 pixels x 3264 pixels, so I downsized quite a bit for speed in uploading from my computer to the Smumug website. The photos are now 768 x 1024 pixels at 300 ppi, which if printed will yield a 2.5" x 3.5" photo, or if you have the equipment, you can change the resolution to 150 ppi and print a photo about 5" x 7". OR - if there are any photos you'd like in a large size, please don't hesitate to ask me personally.

Grange Pilgrimage Part II - Juliana Biro Photos : On the 4th day of our Pilgrimage we visited Rheims Cathedral in the champagne country. Thanks to an unfortunate accident, water spilled into the photographer's camera, and it was rendered hors de combat. Thankfully, by the end of the day it was working again, but in the meantime, Juliane Biro kindly offered to take numerous photos ot the cathedral and inside the museum in the Palais de Tau. Here are her lovely film photos scanned and digitized. In addition there are some 7 photos scanned from postcards and the guide book, and since the front was partially covered in restoration screening, including the figure of the smiling angel, this will show how the cathedral looks without visual obstruction.

Grange Pilgrims 2004 : Pilgrims from the Grange - you know who you are, so for privacy reasons, names will not appear on photos, only the location. I strove to include as many "people pictures" as possible, cropping corners and other pieces from photos to highlight the persons in each photo. Some of the people will be very tiny, but if you open the original photo, you can get a better look, and you may see yourself!
