Jamie Shafer (jamieos) > This extraordinary castle had a very modern feel - with a cruciform plan, and an airshaft tower rising through the center of all floors for light and ventilation and two garderobes (2!) on each main floor, back to back as in the best modern plans, and with not only built-in waterclosets but places for water basins and for dumping the used water out through the castle walls. The immense cellars were good too, and altogether if one had to live in a cold, damp castle, this one would be a first choice.
